Adventure Tactics - Pre-Alpha Launch


Hi all! I am launching this new roguelike game, called Adventure Tactics, which allows you to creatively combine skill effects.

The main idea is that there is a small grid -currently a 3x3 one- in which players can place up to three skills to create attacks. These can affect each other and the terrain may also create obstacles (some more tricky to navigate around than others) that prevent your ideal combinations. More skills are acquired as you play and there are many  of interactions to explore.

Content: (I will have this section in all future devlog posts)

  • 4 terrains with distinct gameplay
  • 1 playable character (in the future, you will be able to play with any kind of mob monsters in the game in addition to all playable characters)
  • 4 mob monster types
  • 3 types of skill upgrades (stronger, easier to use, longer duration)
  • 19 acquire-able skills, each with a unique feel

Status. The game is in a pre-alpha stage, meaning that it basically has only the main gameplay and progression loop implemented, and is without visual bells-and-wistles. Still, I am releasing it because I had fun even with this kind of gameplay, so maybe you will too.

Plans. I plan to make this game as good as possible, so I will probably work on it a lot. Though note that I am not good with drawing (I do the programming and game design stuff) and will be using third-party assets similar to those in the screenshots.
