Un-Glitch version 0.6: character updates
Hi all!
Contninuing the development of Un-Glitch, I focused on improving the graphics. Gameplay is basically finished, with all stages and mechanics having been balanced. There were a lot of minor enhancements that you can find in the latest release and contribute to the overall esthetics of the game, such as flashing (instead of static) success and fail messages when the game is over, and having rotating tiles in the main menu with best completion times in the back to de-clutter the interface.
The most important change, though, is that I reworked what the player character looks like. Wanting to avoid the cold top-down view that messed with the perspective, I went for a warmer style that is less animate-able but has visual clarity and brings some type of "cuteness" to contrast the impersonal look and feel of glitches. I further made the decision to randomly generate each character's looks for each stage, which can help players overcome (subconsious) social prejudices.
