Mini Adventure
Overview
Select one of the three available cards each turn. Push your ⭐ score as high by obtaining it from selected cards (only if you successfully overcome their challenge).
A hidden Talent stat allows improvement beyond what you start with. If you lose stats, they become hidden talent too. Each adventurer has some special trait and the following properties:
- ❤️ HP
- 💪 Strong
- 🧠 Clever
- 🛡 Tough (max HP)
- 🧿 Talent (a hidden resource: losing stats converts them to talent)
- ⭐ Score (run progression)
The run ends when either happens:
- ❤️ HP reaches 0
- ⭐ Score drops to 0
Encounters
Encounters award adventure points when overcome. Success depends on your stats, but the how is intentionally vague. Many threats can be solved through either Strength or Thought, while others demand a specific of the two — hinted through the flavor text.
You can build a balanced character who can respond to anything, or a specialized character who crushes high-rarity encounters... if you have an the appropriate stat (between Strong and Clever).
Damage is random but always less than that rarity. You may need to gradually adjust stats with training cards or treasures found. Again, details on the cards are a bit vague and they can fail.
Conditional finds
Some cards appear based on certain events or conditions. For example: you may find a World Fragment just after encountering -even if you did not win- some of the more ancient encounters, like a Dragon.
